Volvo is set to unveil its latest electric saloon, the ES90, on March 5, 2025. This model is poised to replace the S90 in Volvo’s lineup, introducing significant advancements in electric vehicle technology.
Equipped with a 106 kWh battery, the all-wheel-drive ES90 boasts a remarkable estimated range of up to 435 miles on a single charge, as per the WLTP testing cycle. This positions the ES90 as one of the longest-range electric vehicles in its class.
The ES90 features an 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling ultra-rapid charging. When connected to a 350 kW fast charger, drivers can add approximately 186 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Additionally, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes, significantly reducing downtime during long journeys.
In line with Volvo’s commitment to sustainability, the ES90 incorporates eco-friendly materials throughout its construction. Approximately 29% of the aluminum and 18% of the steel used are recycled, and 16% of the polymers are derived from recycled or bio-based sources. The interior features wood panels crafted from FSC-certified sources, ensuring responsible forestry practices.
The ES90 introduces a new in-house-developed battery management software, enhancing charging efficiency and battery longevity. This system, combined with the vehicle’s advanced hardware, contributes to the ES90’s impressive range and performance metrics.
The official unveiling of the Volvo ES90 is scheduled for March 5, 2025. This event will provide a comprehensive look at the vehicle’s features, design, and technological innovations, marking a significant milestone in Volvo’s journey toward a fully electric future.
